If you’re contemplating on buying them, don’t, just do it.
P44 + A100 + S8 is my current setup. I’ve listened to my mates setup who is a professional DJ who uses Rokit 5s with a pro DAC/AMP in the mixer, and has defs spent so much more money than what I have to get their setup right. and some how this current setup of mine, I don’t wanna say it beats it, but damn I think it does.. I am honestly confused.
These are brilliant!

I thought the b50’s were a great budget speaker, but the p44’s can still fill the same room with even more depth and clarity. I don’t know how they were able to pack that much quality in such a small footprint. Paired with the s8, will make any budget audiophile setup smile. Highly recommended and their customer service is exceptional.

I purchased these speakers with an S8 sub and they sound SO much better than my previous 2.1 setup (Audioengine A5 with Audioengine S8 sub) that I sold when I couldn’t have music playing loud with a newborn around. Volls offering here is fantastic and totally recommend the P44 and even more so with the S8 sub

I currently use my P44 with an SMSL AD18 amp on a desk mainly for music and some movies. The work very well and sound quite detailed relative to their size and price. The highs are present but never get annoying or too in your face, the mids a just a little bit more recessed and the mid bass is a little more forward. Sub bass is surprisingly good for the size and adequate for music listening.
In a medium sized bedroom they get loud enough and are fairly efficient. They work decently well in a small to medium sized living room as well but you can only expect so much from a 4 inch woofer. Comparing them to a similarly priced 2.1 soundbar setup the P44 are clearer in the highs and mids but cant compare in the bass department when compared to a dedicated sub (although you have to take into account the additional price of the amp you need to power them). I don’t have a compatible subwoofer setup that I could connect them to compare to (even though the SMSL AD18 has a sub out) but using them in a louder than normal cinema setting in a medium sized room or a large room is not recommended as they start to chuff quite audibly as the small rear port starts to struggle. Your mileage may vary if you plan on using a dedicated sub though.
Comparing them to my Yamaha NS P-350 bookshelf (they are generally used for my 5.1 surround setup but used them on my desk as well as small-medium living room 2.0 setup for comparison), the P44 isn’t quite as good in a medium to larger room mainly due to size differences but is comparable, depending on use case, in a bedroom setting on a desk. Although for a third of the price if you’re getting comparable performance that’s a very good value proposition. They can’t compare to floorstanding speakers but I guess you have to curb your expectations somewhere.
I did notice that they sound a little different if you place them even 10 cm further apart than normal on a desk and they do work best on a desk with a little bit of toe in with a medium volume. So placement can be important if you want to get it to sound the best for your ears.
In general if you keep your expectations sensible they’re a very good option for a starting setup and you wont be disappointed for the price.

I don’t have a point of comparison other than some cheap PC speakers, but to me these are pretty good. They have decent bass for music, and clear sound with minimal noise.
I was able to easily drive them with a cheap TPA3116 amp, and the sound travels well with these speakers.
My only complaint is that the mesh covers suck. The sound becomes ridiculously muddy with them on, something that even cheaper speakers don’t do.
